Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

  • 1. What does ART Patterns create?

ART Patterns designs original surface patterns for home textiles, wallpaper, interiors and lifestyle products. Every collection is created as professional vector artwork, suitable for licensing or direct manufacturing.

  • 2. Are all your designs original?

Yes. Every collection begins as original artwork and is developed into professionally constructed vector designs. We do not use AI-generated patterns, stock artwork or copied designs.

  • 3. Are your patterns suitable for commercial production?

Yes. Every collection is prepared for professional manufacturing with organised vector artwork, seamless repeats and production-ready files suitable for textile, wallpaper and surface printing.

  • 4. Are your seamless repeats tested?

Yes. Every repeating pattern is carefully checked to ensure it joins perfectly in every direction without visible breaks or mismatched edges before it becomes part of our collection.

  • 5. What file formats do you provide?

Depending on the project, artwork can be supplied in: * Adobe Illustrator (AI) * SVG * EPS * PDF * TIFF * JPEG preview files If you require another format, please contact us before ordering.

  • 6. Can I edit the artwork?

Yes. Because our artwork is created as vector graphics, colours, motifs and scale can usually be edited without loss of quality when using compatible software.

  • 7. Can individual motifs be extracted?

Yes. Many collections are built from organised vector elements, allowing individual motifs to be isolated and reused for coordinating products where licensing permits.

  • 8. Can the colours be changed?

Yes. Most collections can be recoloured to suit different brands, markets or product ranges. Additional colourways can also be developed on request.

  • 9. Can you create exclusive colourways?

Yes. We regularly develop exclusive colourways for brands and manufacturers.

  • 10. Can I commission a completely new collection?

Yes. We welcome bespoke commissions. We can develop an original collection around your brand, product category, colour palette or design brief.

  • 11. Can I request matching coordinate patterns?

Yes. Many collections include hero patterns, secondary designs and blender patterns. Additional coordinating designs can also be created if required.

  • 12. Can I see the pattern on products before licensing?

Yes. We can prepare realistic product visualisations to help you evaluate how a collection will look on bedding, cushions, curtains, wallpaper and other products before production.

  • 13. What products are your designs suitable for?

Our collections are suitable for many applications including: * Bedding * Cushions * Curtains * Wallpaper * Throws * Home décor * Upholstery * Fabric collections * Stationery * Giftware

  • 14. Can the scale of a pattern be changed?

Yes. Because the artwork is vector-based, motifs can usually be enlarged or reduced to suit different products while maintaining excellent quality.

  • 15. What is vector artwork?

Vector artwork is created using mathematical paths rather than pixels, allowing designs to be scaled to almost any size without losing sharpness or quality.

  • 16. What is a seamless repeat?

A seamless repeat is the smallest unit of artwork that repeats continuously in every direction without visible joins, creating an uninterrupted pattern across any surface.

  • 17. Which licence do I need?

The appropriate licence depends on how you intend to use the artwork. Our licensing options are designed for different commercial and manufacturing requirements. If you’re unsure, we’ll be happy to advise.

  • 18. Can I manufacture products using your designs?

Yes, provided you purchase the appropriate commercial licence. We can advise on the most suitable licensing option for your intended production.

  • 19. Do I own the copyright after purchasing a licence?

Unless specifically agreed otherwise, copyright remains with ART Patterns. Your licence grants the agreed rights to use the artwork under the licence terms.

  • 20. Do you offer exclusive licensing?

Yes. Selected collections may be licensed exclusively. Availability depends on the collection and the agreed licensing terms.

  • 21. Do you provide production documentation?

Yes. Many collections can include supporting production documents such as specification sheets, colour references, product visualisations and organised artwork files.

  • 22. How can I contact ART Patterns?

You can contact us through our website, email or enquiry form. We’ll be happy to discuss licensing, custom collections or manufacturing requirements.
